Layan is a comprehensive beauty and grooming marketplace I developed to connect customers with barbers, salons, and makeup artists. The platform currently serves 300+ service providers and 2,000+ active customers, enabling seamless service discovery, booking, and payment processing.

I built the application using Next.js with server-side rendering for optimal SEO and performance, and NestJS for the backend API, ensuring fast response times and a responsive user experience. The platform includes a sophisticated approval workflow system where service providers must submit portfolios, certifications, and business documents for verification, maintaining high service quality and building customer trust.

Stripe integration provides secure payment processing handling $30K+ monthly transactions, including service bookings, deposits, tips, and refunds. The system supports multiple payment methods, automated invoicing, and commission management. MongoDB stores all service listings, provider profiles, customer data, booking history, reviews, and transaction records with optimized queries for fast search and filtering.

Key features include advanced search with location-based filtering, service provider profiles with portfolios and reviews, real-time availability calendar, appointment scheduling with automated reminders, team management for salons with multiple staff members, rating and review system, loyalty program integration, and comprehensive admin dashboard for platform management and analytics.
